The
idea
A variety of lighting manufacturers wanted to develop
a flexible, low-cost light control system for simulating a true-to-life light
environment for aquariums and terrariums. The following requirements were
set after numerous talks:
- Simplest integration into existing
manufacturing processes
- Easy fitting and wiring
- Functional with T5 and T8 fluorescent tubes
with dimmable electronic ballast units
- Simplest operation
- Low price
- Suitable for lighting panels and
suspended lamps
- Temperature range >70°C
Development
After 18 months of development work we can now offer
you a product which fulfils all the requirements stated above. We even found
this control system so good that we have had it protected by patent.
The
product
The product is a, for space-saving reasons, two-sided
printed board assembly with two holes for fitting and connecting terminals
for the wiring. The size of the assembly has been designed so as not to exceed
the vertical installation clearance of dimmable ballast units.
Special
funtions
- Simplest operation by means of external
cable-fitted switches
- Control via a commercially-available
timer
- Freely-adjustable time span for sunrise/sunset
- Production of night-time lighting conditions
- Cloud simulation
- Optional lunar-phase simulation
- Dimmable range from 0 to 100
