1.) aquastar programming interface:

If I change a number entry in a number field (e.g. "on" or "off" times at the time functions , control values for "value day" or "value night") and afterwards I load the new programming data on the iks aquastar, why was the new number entry in the aquastar not taken over?

After you changed a number in a field, the flashing cursor may not remain in this field. After you changed a number in a field, move the cursor with the mouse into another field whose numerical value you do not want to change any longer. If there is only one number field in a special window (e.g. measured value attitudes - > storage - > memory interval), then you have to click simply on an active "radio button" again (e.g. clear memories ? : if "no button" is active, then press this button again).

2.) Connecting problems - problems while starting winsoft 0.19.0
The PC program winsoft is not able to establish contact to the aquastar, even though it has worked before.

In what kind of mode situates your aquastar ? In operation mode (running) or in programming mode ? We have found out, that the aquastar reacts in a better way to the asynchronous commands of the software winsoft, if it situates in operation mode.

  After winsoft was started the firmware version of the aquastar was not correctly detected . ( Message : "aquastar software version : 2. " ) and the message " Possibly you use an older version of the aquastar software than 2.19 ! " appears.
Solution: In the system settings below the properties of the corresponding COM serial port change the "Receive Buffer"-setting for the FIFO to "low".

  Approach to Windows 2000:
Start - Settings - Systemsteuerung - System - Hardware - Geräte-Manager - Ports (COM und LPT) - Serial Port (COMx) (Doppel-Click) - Port Settings - Advanced - Advanced Settings for COMx - Receive Buffer - push the slider to "Low (1)"

  Approach to Windows 98:
Start, Go to Settings, Control Panel, Click on System, System Properties, Device Manager, Ports (COM & LPT) Communication Port (COM x), Port Settings,(Bits per Seconds: 9600 - Data bits: 8 - Parity: None - Stop bits: 1 - Flow Control: None) Advanced, Advanced Port Settings, Receive Buffer: Low (1) Transmit Buffer: Low (1), Click OK Buttons, close all windows and restart windows 98.

  Starting winsoft , after the request of the firmware version of aquastar the following message appears : "Aquastar doesn't respond ! Please check cable connection ! "
Try to achieve a connection to aquastar with the Windows "Hyperterminal" program.Settings:
Bits per second : 9600 ; Data bits: 8 ; Parity: No ; Stop bits: 1 ; Handshake : No.

3.) Message "The configured serial port is not valid" when program starts.

When starting winsoft, don't be worry about the message "The configured serial port is not valid. Please choose another port". In this special case, this message is unimportant, you can choose all free ports of your PC

FAQs serial interface

1.) absence of serial interface::

Both serial interfaces of my PC are occupied by a analog modem and a "mouse" respectively my portable PC (laptop) doesn't make a serial interface available. Can I connect the iks aquastar to the PC anyway ?

If your PC has a USB-interface, you can make an additional serial interface available to the PC with an USB adapter for serial interface (data cable) over the USB-port. Besides the COM1 und COM2 interface you can also choose the COM3 interface. The USB adapter is available in the internet-shop http://www.datenkabel-discounter.de . The device driver for Windows 95 98 ME 2000 and XP will be sent per E-Mail from the internet-shop. Please notice, that the Windows XP device driver is not qualified for the logo "Designed for Windows XP". You have also the ability to download the device driver here: Download
